Underground Iasi

The Exhibition "Underground Iași – Rediscovered
(Hi)Stories”

Today, 12 January 2021, starting with 2pm, the opening conference of the exhibition “Underground Iași – Rediscovered (Hi)Stories” took place at the Palace of Culture.  We thank all participants for being there with us, the whole team and our collaborators for getting involved into the project. The exhibition will be open until the end of June 2021 and can be visited free of charge.  Pending on visitors’ feedback, it might be extended. The exhibition in unique in Romania as it displays the enlarged replica of a sundial made in Nuremberg in 1591 by Hans Troschel the Older. By means of a robotic arm, which simulates the sunlight falling on the dial, this replica suggests how the sundial was used back then, in the epoch. Moreover, the six interactive showcases become alive by means of sensors, as soon as the visitors come close to them. A turntable incorporated in the showcases allows visitors to view the exhibits at 360 degrees, while the screens in the upper part provide complementary information in a dynamic, animated manner.
