The Tatarasi – village or suburb in Iasi in the Middle Ages?” – mini-conference

Mini-conference “Tatarasii – village or suburb of Iasi in the Middle Ages?” is supported by Dr. Tamilia Marin, museographer at the Museum of History of Moldova in Iasi. Dr. Marin will present the possible options for interpreting the status of the current Tătărași neighborhood in the medieval period, as they are outlined from the perspective of the archaeological discoveries made in the mentioned area. The event is organized in the context of the project “Underground Iasi – Rediscovered Histories”, by the National Museum Complex “Moldova” through the Museum of History of Moldova, in partnership with the Institute of Archeology in Reykjavik, Iceland. The project is funded by the EEA Grants 2014-2021, the RO-CULTURE program, and highlights a series of discoveries that illustrate the life of the aristocracy and craftsmen, who lived their lives not far from the Royal Court in Iasi.
