     Project launching “Underground Iași – Redescovered (Hi)Stories”

On february 28th, 2020, from 11.00 a.m., National Museum Complex “Moldova” Iași organized in the “Ștefan Provopiu” Hall from the Palace of Culture, the press conference dedicated to the project launching “Underground Iași – Redescovered (Hi)Stories”, funded within the RO-CULTURA Programme, through the EEA Grants 2014-2020, Call Supporting Innovative exhibitions of restored objects.

The project is carried out in partnership with the Institute of Archeology of Iceland, based in Reykjavík. The general objective of the project is to promote the artifacts discovered following the archaeological excavations from the City of Iași, by organizing an interactive exhibition, at the Palace of Culture from Iași. The total value of the project is 617.288,12 RON. The EEA Grants represent the Iceland, the Principality of Liechtenstein and the Kingdom of Norway contribution to reduce economic and social disparities from the European Economic Area and to strenghten the bilateral relations with the 15 beneficiary states from the Eastern and South Europe and Baltic States.

In total, the three countries contributed with 3,3 billion euro between 1994 and 2014 and with 1,55 billion euro for The 2014-2021 funding period. The RO-CULTURE programe is implemented by the Ministry of Culture through the Project Management Unit and has as general objective the consolidation of economic and social development through cultural cooperation, entrepreneurship and heritage management.
